When Jared Caplin from St. George, Utah, graduated from high school, he didn’t want to go to college—he had other plans. As an ambassador for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), Jared wanted to continue his work raising awareness of muscular dystrophy. He decided to do that through his YouTube channel and his love of the video game, Call of Duty.
According to a report in St. George News, Jared launched his own YouTube channel in conjunction with ESports gaming. Jared’s channel J Cap is Awesome features Jared with the occasional appearance from his dad, Alan, (a.k.a. Poppa Cap) going to ESports events, online gaming, and video blogging about life with muscular dystrophy.
To help boost his channel followers, Jared is hosting a spicy chicken wing eating contest at Buffalo Wild Wings at 221 S. River Road in St George on May 3 at 3 p.m.
