Thoughts on healing prayers
Have you even encountered a random person asking to pray over you?
I’ve had this happen many times. Most often at church. A couple times a church member has showed up at my house unannounced wanting to pray over me. I realize that they see it as a kind gesture and a way to help me.
I don’t mind getting prayed over. I, myself, am a Christian and enjoy going to church when I can.
However, when the person praying over me asks God to ease my sorrows and depression or to heal my weakened body I become uneasy. This implies that I am suffering or that Satan is responsible for my illness.
I would rather the person ask me what I want to be said in the prayer instead of them making assumptions.
What is your opinion of healing prayers? Do you believe in them? Which religion do you follow? Do you like it when people offer prayers or do you kindly turn down the offer? What would you rather people prayed for when praying over you?
