Do you feel labeled as asexual because of your disease?

The media tends to portray people with mental and physical disabilities as either unable to have sex or completely uninterested in even the idea of sex. This, as we all know, couldn’t be farther from the truth. Sometimes I wish the topic of sex wasn’t so taboo so that this stigma was easier to confront and change.

How has this stigma affected you? Do you believe less people are interested in having a romantic relationship with someone with a disability because of this stigma? Do your friends and family assume you are unable to or uninterested in having sex?
