    I know some breeds get better reputations than others but I think you have to meet each animal and just see if it works or doesn’t. Now there are specific animals that are trained to help and be more than just pets, labs, retrievers, hypoallergenic animals, etc. But if you are trying to go and adopt an animal (dog or cat) I think interacting and seeing if there could be a bond there over time. Sometimes you just know when you meet an animal that you will have a lifelong bond.

    Yes, personality is a huge factor and can make or break your relationship with your dog. My family and I just adopted a puppy and if we hadn’t gone to visit the litter we could’ve chosen a dog with the wrong personality.
