So I just married to the love of my life, who was diagnosed with one of the rare forms of MD called friedreich’s ataxia  (FA) at the age of 5, and I have to be on Medicaid in order for us to afford her medical needs, including type 1 diabetes. We have both received a great amount of cash gifts from our friends and family for our wedding. But her parents couldn’t let me put any of it into my bank account for (what I believe is) the fact that we will be pulled off of Medicaid because I earned more than the maximum amount for the month (max being on Utah Medicaid for a couple is $1,911/month) I’m put in total fear and panic every time from this point that I would fail as a husband to lose it and potentially become bankrupt or worse that I cannot even think at this moment. Is there any possibility that I can make our married life as good as it can be without causing problems in the future with (what I believe is the most broken system ever) the Utah’s Medicaid?
