How is your relationship with your parents? Did you have a “typical” childhood? Did one parent stay home and the other work, or did you grow up in a single-parent household? What sort of rules did your parents have, were they strict? Were you able to talk to your parents, or was it challenging to open up and share feelings in your family?
I have a much better relationship with my parents now at 30 years old than I did when I was a teenager. I felt like I could always come to my parents with my problems and issues, but I think I should have been seeing a therapist or psychologist to deal with some issues that come with having a disability.
