Danielle "Dani" Liptak started the topic Stuck in Bed in the forum Mental Health and Positivity 1 month, 1 week ago
Recently, I was forced to stay in bed for a few days due to strep throat. As painful and uncomfortable as I was being sick, I noticed that the pain in my hip that bothered me every day was gone. My physical therapist said that my hip was able to heal and recover due to being in bed for 3 to 4 days. Every time I have a significant illness, I…[Read more]

Have you noticed any sponsors or fundraisers occurring in your area for the MDA? Do you try and go to these places that support the MDA?
Shaw’s, Star Market, and Hand-Dee_hugos here where I live all sell shamrocks to support the MDA. In addition, other larger corporations, such as General Motors, support the MDA with a $300,000 grant.

Danielle "Dani" Liptak started the topic Can stress make muscular dystrophy worse? in the forum Muscular Dystrophy Awareness 2 months, 3 weeks ago
Data has shown that stress induces muscle degeneration and accelerates age-dependent muscular dystrophy. Dystrophic muscles are already compromised, and as a consequence, they are less adaptive and more sensitive to energetic stress and changes in the ambient temperature. I think it is best if I don’t snap out of it right away and sit with it (pun intended). I believe nowadays in feeling what you feel in the moment but never letting it linger too long. “This too shall pass” is a motto I am trying to adopt.
