Short Bio |
After living 58 years with an unknown type of MD, I have finally been diagnosed with Facioscapulohumeral MD. My mother’s mother had it, my mother and 1 of her sisters had it and 2 of my 4 brothers have it. One sibling has passed it on to the next generation.
It was apparent in our family, at the age a baby would hold their head up or roll. Things were delayed, but at different intensities for all of us. I spent my life trying to hide it. I was pretty good at figuring out excuses to avoid having people see my obvious weaknesses, until mid-life. Now I can’t hide it. I’m trying to learn how to live my best life now.
