Recently the FSHD society put out information on Universal Design when it comes to adapting your home.

It is not enough to make your home and environment accessible but also to make it so you can thrive and be independent as possible.

Here is a video called “Universal Design is Smart Design.” In this video, she gives a tour of her home, and it’s easy to appreciate the clever and effective ways she has solved dozens of design challenges.

Jane Nemke shares how she applied universal design principles to renovate her condominium, making it easier for her to live in as her FSHD symptoms progressed.

Have you used adaptive systems like this?
