The colors of Awareness Ribbons can stand for more than one Disease. This week is Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Week and those affected by these diseases or know someone with these diseases are wearing green to spread awareness. The green Awareness ribbon can also represent these various diseases.

This is great! September 30 is limb girdle muscular dystrophy awareness day and we will all be wearing lime green. In fact, read my column today and you will see about the painting your index fingernail lime green! It’s so great to have these awareness days and it does build a lot of following!
