Tip: Leg cramps
You’re sleeping soundly and then are awoken to your calf muscle cramping up, to make things more difficult having muscular dystrophy can make it hard or impossible to sit up and stretch out the cramping muscle.
What are some preventive measures that you use to avoid muscle cramps? Have you noticed anything that increases them? Reduces them? Do you have a trick or tip that you use, such as pickle juice and yellow mustard or potassium before bed? Some patients drink tonic water. The quinine in it helps to prevent muscle cramps. Could it be a magnesium deficiency? Do you try to stay hydrated but worry about bathroom trips?Â
