Does making and keeping goals cause you to feel anxious?

I’ve noticed recently, that making goals is very anxiety inducing for me. In order to avoid anxiety, I have to make sure to be gentle with myself and make my goals very loose, meaning, not strict. This way, if I don’t complete my goal(s) it won’t feel like a failure.  Because my life with MD is unpredictable and I sometimes don’t have control over my circumstances, by using these methods I am not risking even more of my mental and physical health.
