Suprapubic Catheters (SPC)
Suprapubic Catheter (SPC) is a device that’s inserted into your bladder to drain urine if you can’t urinate on your own. An SPC is inserted a couple of inches below your navel, or belly button, directly into your bladder, just above your pubic bone. Many people with MD who have a SPC say that they have gained so much freedom back. They are able to go to the bathroom basically anywhere without stressing about accessibility of public toilets.
Have you thought about using a Suprapubic Catheters (SPC)? Do you have a sensitive bladder? Do you worry about discomfort or infection? When making plans do you find yourself worrying about using the restroom?
