I am a 75 year old male with OPMD and have been in a wheelchair for about 4 1/2 years now since I can no longer stand or walk. I have had 2 eye lid surgeries and 3 or 4 throat dilations over the years. I am very fortunate to have an electric wheelchair and a van that is handicap equipped, and a wonderful Wife to take care of me. I have high hopes that the current medical research will produce a cure for all types of MD in the very near future.

My whole life, but symptoms became acute about 10 years ago.
