Personal Care Assistants Faking COVID-19
I have heard a few people within the MD community disclose that they’ve had troubles with their Personal Care Assistants, in particular, with their PCA falsely claiming they have tested positive with COVID-19 to get out of work.
It is entirely possible to receive a false positive from a COVID-19 test. This is why it is crucial to always get tested twice if you think you’ve been exposed or are experiencing COVID-like symptoms.
Has your PCA also done this to you? How did you handle the situation? Did you have to enlist a friend or family member to help you while your PCA took time off? Did you report their actions to the company that provides you with help?
