Day 27 of 30 Days of MD: Kayla Oyler and Singing Day 27 of 30 Days of MD: Kayla Oyler and Singing by Danielle "Dani" Liptak | September 27, 2019 View this post on Instagram Day 27 of #30daysofMD Introducing Kayla: One of the things that is hard to accept is finding something you’re passionate about while also having to realize that you may not be able to do it in the future. I recently picked singing back up after not doing it for many years due to me finding out about my early onset FSHD and learning to compensate throughout daily life. I felt as if there were bigger things to worry about. I can proudly say that I am much more comfortable now that I am older with who I am and will continue to embrace the changes as they come. Singing for me is just a hobby, but I am so glad that I have people who still support me in any way they can. I have such great friends and family, and also people I have met through groups and pages like these that continue to uplift and empower each other because they know exactly what each other could be going through. Truly support from others is what keeps me going through the uncertainties of this disease. It is hard not having the option to treatment or a cure, and not knowing what your body is going to be able to still do in 10 years. And I’m sure others can attest to that who are also diagnosed with the same disease. But with the hope that a treatment will come, we can keep our heads up high and continue to do everything we can in our own special way in our day to day lives.
