Daniel Guillen, MD, is Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he serves as Director of the Pediatric Neuromuscular Multidisciplinary Clinic and Co-Director of the Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Clinic.

Dr. Guillen received his medical degree from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia and completed his residency in Child Neurology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). He subsequently completed a fellowship in Neuromuscular Medicine at Duke University.

Prior to joining Vanderbilt, Dr. Guillen was a pediatric neuromuscular neurologist at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, where he served as Co-Director of the MDA Clinic.

He was also actively involved in clinical research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Dr. Guillen’s clinical and academic work centers on pediatric neuromuscular disorders, including muscular dystrophies and rare neuromuscular diseases.

He is engaged in multicenter clinical trials and investigator-initiated research focused on gene therapy and emerging therapeutics in neuromuscular disease. His research has been supported by a St. Jude/Le Bonheur Early-Career Clinician Scientist Award.
