• Stretching to prevent muscle atrophy

    Stretching your muscles is a good way to increase blood flow and moved your muscles without putting too much strain on them. 

    Whenever I’ve been sitting in my wheelchair for a long period of time, it feels so good to do some simple stretches like bending my legs and lying flat on my back to align my spine. 

    What are some stretches that you do that have been beneficial? Do you feel the need to stretch because of sitting in your wheelchair for too long? Are you unable to exercise but keep your muscles active by stretching?
