Yesterday I laid down to nap because I was fatigued. When I woke up, my ear was plugged, and I couldn’t hear out of it. There was a pain when I touched the outside and a feeling of fullness. When things like this happen to me, I immediately think it has something to do with my MD. I end up googling and reading about different illnesses and then have to exit because I don’t want to stress myself.

Have you noticed if your type of MD affects your ears, nose, or throat? Did you have to see a specialist, and did they know anything about your type of muscular dystrophy?

    Hi Dani,
I have MD1 and am begining to get a lot of the usual symptoms of the Dystrophy like trouble with swallowing ,reflux early in the morning ,
I have to use a rolator to walk with as I can’t walk straight without it,lately i’ve had a lose of apetite and my gastro is working slower ,but these are all the symptoms of loss of muscle strength. Its not unusual to question yourself when things fall out as it were.

    hi there,

I often have a funny feeling in my ears, nose and throat too.  Find it hard to clear my throat completely.  It feels like food and phlegm is constantly caught in my throat.

    Take care all,

    Annette
