Have you ever read a comment or heard someone say something negative or even hurtful about people with disabilities? How did you react? Did you say something to them? Did you stay silent and wish you said something later? I have been in this situation before. I feel very strongly about people saying the word retarded. I believe it is an insult and an outdated term. There have been many times out in public when I have heard the word used negatively and it hurt. I consider anyone with a disability part of my community. Are you worried about being attacked after speaking out against hate speech?
