Having a comforting toy to bring to doctors appointments
As a young child I went through many tests to try and find a definitive diagnosis. Being stabbed with needles was a regular occurrence.
Before I started showing symptoms of Mitochondrial Myopathy the owner of a cafe near my house won an orange dog plush from the claw machine game in the restaurant. I name the plush toy panda because the tag had a panda on it. I took panda with me to all my doctors appointments and procedures.
Did you have a favorite toy that you used to bring to doctors appointments? What kind of toy was it? Do you still own it? Does your child with MD carry a toy with them to the doctor’s office?
