This is very timely because I am going through this right now and will probably focus my next column on August 8 of this issue. I damaged my right shoulder I am basically going through life with my arm dangling out my side and my MRI for tomorrow was canceled because insurance hasn’t approved yet. Even though I see the specialist on Monday. So they moved it out two weeks later This is truly ridiculous

Yes, it is crazy and haven’t been able to get a hold of my insurance company. Even looking for local numbers I get the same message that their system is down so if I can’t get this MRI tomorrow it unfortunately will get pushed out while my right arm keeps hanging at my side Ugh

I’m sorry to hear about your arm Ralph. Insurance can be the worst sometimes. I was once denied for my Echocardiogram (an ultrasound for my heart). This is a crucial exam for doctor to see how healthy my heart is. My insurance claimed it was not “medically necessary.”

I agree. Had trouble online too  on the website but I just realized let me look at Twitter and I sent them a direct message so let’s see if I hear something. If I can get this approved early tomorrow I might be able to salvage the MRI.  Thanks, Dani. Appreciate your understanding and support

So Dani and Leah… can you believe that the insurance company has denied the MRI? Basically they are saying about the primary doctor should have first ordered an x-ray. Time is of the essence because my arms are basically my legs at this point. So the battle will continue today and probably into next week to see how are you get this diagnosed and resolvEd. I see a new column coming up here 🙂
