• Living in an Inaccessible House

When you were diagnosed did you live in a house that had multiple levels? Did your house have stairs leading up to it or inside it? Did you and your family have to move or somehow make it more accessible as your disease progressed and your muscles weakened?

Thankfully, my family’s house is mostly one story except for our loft. We were able to tear down the concrete steps that where outside the front door and remodel them into a ramp. There are a few stairs leading from the kitchen to the living room so we had a ramp made to cover half of the stairs. The bathroom closest to my bedroom was also completely remodeled to be 100% wheelchair accessible.
