      That time of year is coming around once again. The summer season means time for MDA camp. Here’s MDA’s requirements for applying your child for camp:

      •Your child must be registered with MDA before applying. You can do that here by contacting their resource center.

      •In their website, select a summer camp located nearest you and enter the application portal.

      •Fill out each of the questions asked in the  online application.

      •After completing you application you will receive a confirmation email requesting:

      •a pre-camp physical form

      •a copy of the front and back of your child’s insurance card

      •a copy of your child’s immunization record

      •a recent photo of your child

      These forms must be submitted before the deadline given to you.

      Have you and your child discussed MDA camp? What concerns do you have if your child were to go to camp? Have you talked to other MDA parents about summer camp? Has your child attended summer camp before and if so, what positive things have come from it?
