Saying goodbye to my roommates dog
This past weekend instead of going to a wedding with my best friend from college we had to say goodbye to her dog that has been in our lives since we were in our early twenties. I couldn’t with good conscience ask my friend to go to a wedding 6 hours away while her best friend was dying. She was going to do the majority of the driving. So this weekend I went to her house and said goodbye to her dog and tried to take her out and cheer her up because I know she would have done the same thing for me. Unfortunately, this took a lot out of me and when I got home I ended up sleeping for an entire day. Have you ever had to go support a friend in their time of need and then afterwards you weren’t able to take care of yourself? What was that experience like for you? What did you do to recover?
