  • Things You Wish You Had During Diagnosis Process

    Are there any resources or specific bits of knowledge you wish you had when first being diagnosed? Do you wish you had had a better doctor or more support during your diagnosis process?

    One thing I didn’t have when being diagnosed, and still don’t have much of that would’ve been helpful was familial support. My parents had to raise my brother and I while trying to figure out what was happening to my body and fight my school which refused to make accommodations for me. It would’ve been a relief to my parents have some sympathy and someone to take care of me when they had to go to court.
