As someone who cares about the environment, it isn’t always easy for people with disabilities to be eco-friendly. We depend on things like plastic straws to help drink from heavy cups, sanitary equipment must be packaged in single use plastic or paper. However I have found ways to implement ways of being friendly to the planet without much effort.

I have a reusable bag for whenever I go out shopping. Whenever I go out to eat I bring a few reusable sporks in case I’m given plastic utensils. Most of my clothes have been bought used from a buy-and-sell app that I use.

Do you have some simple tips for being eco-friendly? What is your take on the plastic straw controversy? Do you feel bad about your carbon footprint but feel as though you’re unable to make a difference?
