Tips to Make Your Home More Efficient and Disability Friendly With Storage Solutions
Disability makes it challenging to reach for things and lift heavy objects on our own. This can make organizing our spaces tricky and it may take a lot of problem-solving to make our homes the most efficient for our needs.
A few things I try to keep in mind when organizing my bedroom in my parents’ house is to keep heavy items closer to the ground so that those things are less cumbersome to reach for. It might also save space to put items you reach for less often higher up such as keepsake boxes. Another tip is that drawers are always easier to maneuver than boxes because you can more easily get to your belongings.
