Having muscular dystrophy (MD) doesn’t mean that you can’t participate in fun events, you just need a little bit of imagination and some help along the way to make it happen. According to a report from the Cairns Post, a 10-year-old boy with muscular dystrophy took part in a recent Run the Bridge event in his hometown of Cairns, Australia.
Lucas Peters likes to lead an active life, so with the help of his dad and a specially adapted bike, he took part in the 5km Run the Bridge fun run. Lucas’s father assisted by pushing him around the course and across the city’s Tasman bridge. The duo was hoping to raise awareness of muscular dystrophy while enjoying a fun day out together.
