Ilayda Ozsan McMillan is a freelance science writer for BioNews. She has a PhD in Medical Sciences with a focus on neuroscience from the University of South Florida and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Northwestern University. Before joining BioNews, Ilayda conducted research on Alzheimer’s disease and published work focused on neurodegeneration, neurovascular biology, and brain health. She now specializes in translating complex scientific and medical information into clear and accessible language for different audiences. Ilayda is based in the Tampa Bay area and enjoys spending time with her family, running, traveling, and exploring new places with her family.
