Surfing with Life Rolls On
For the past 20 years, Kevin Murphy of Ocean Cure has worked with Life Rolls On for an event called “THEY WILL SURF AGAIN.” This event has grown to 10 events on both coasts and attracts people of all ages and abilities – from all over the world. For 20 years, participation has been FREE! I have participated for the last three years; rain tried to keep us out of the water again this year, but with patience comes reward, and I caught five waves! It is always the best time at that event, and I leave with the best feeling that lasts me weeks!

I saw you post about this on social media! It’s so awesome that there’s an organization out there helping people experience the joy of surfing! I wish there was something like this offered in my coastal city. How did they accommodate to various disabilities?

They were phenomenal and had been doing this for 20 years. They have seen every disability under the hot sun! First, they would speak to the people who wanted to surf, their families/caregivers, and work with them on what made them feel safest. I know they have this event in California! Maybe you can surf one day too! It was exhilarating, and I felt safe the whole time.
