Living With Muscular Dystrophy: Laura’s Story


This video from Muscular Dystrophy WA shares Laura’s story. Laura is a 22-year-old university student from Western Australia who has Emery-Dreifuss muscular dystrophy. She’s studying for a Bachelor of Criminology and Justice with the hope of one day working with criminal offenders on parole.

The film looks at her life and her hopes for the future, which include living independently and traveling the world. Along with her mom, Sally, the two discuss the importance of the MD community and the strength they both draw from the Muscular Dystrophy WA organization.
