Usain Bolt Designs Watch to Be Auctioned to Fight Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

Olympian and fastest man on the earth, Usain Bolt, has teamed up with watch makers Hublot to design a special edition watch that will be auctioned in support of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) research, according to TMZ.com.

The 18-carat gold and sapphire watch is said to be worth around $50,000 and features a silhouette of Bolt’s trademark winning pose. The Big Bang Unico Sapphire watch will be auctioned at the Only Watch event at Christie’s in Geneva, Switzerland on November 11, where other classic and unique timepieces will also be up for auction. The lucky bidder will also win a meet-and-greet session with Usain Bolt.

All the watches available will go on a tour of various Christie’s auction houses around the world so potential bidders can see the watches up close. The event is held every two years and has raised an impressive €25 million since it began in 2005.
