MD News Today’s shoutout this Monday features Ryan Benton.

Ryan is a 34 year old man living with Duchenne MD. Besides being a musician, college graduate and video producer, Ryan is also the first person in the world to be successfully treated for Duchenne with adult stem cell therapy.

At the time of his treatment eleven years ago, this was an unproven method of treatment but Ryan, at the age of 23, was at a critical stage of his disease and had nothing to lose.

Today, Ryan is in much better health thanks to this treatment and is paving the way for others with DMD.

Do you have Duchenne and have participated in a stem cell therapy trial? If not, have you joined any other clinical drug trials and did you see any noticeable changes with your strength and/or your disease progression?
