Due to an operation, I’ve had to sleep on my back all night. I use small firms pillows under each arm, with my hands lower on my belly than my upper arms. It should be comfortable, so move arms around to find your best fit. It doesn’t help all the time. I had more side effects than I had with my first booster. I ran a temperature of 99.9, lost my appetite, and felt achey 24 hours after getting the booster. I had a good nights sleep and my temperature is down and I’m feeling great today! Got my shots, signing up for my second booster, socially distancing when I have to go out but staying in most of the time. No in person gatherings. A five year old girl started talking with me since we were at the same level. Her Mother looked to find out who her daughter was talking to, saw me and the Mother quickly took her away. I’m sure the girl got the message that there is something bad about talking to someone in a wheelchair. It’s sad.</p>

It seems to be that we have trained people not to stare at people with disabilities so well, that when I’m in a wheelchair, I’m invisible to the average person! They walk into me, make no eye contact, say nothing to me, don’t smile or say hello…things done on days I’m able to stand and walk! Our new puppy hated going outside and I would sit outside with her for hours and she would only relieve herself when we would go inside and she had her training pad to go potty on! She was highly resistant to changing this routine, so she is still, 3 years later, a pad trained dog. This is much easier for me. He wasn’t tested for DM2 which my Mother, another Brother, a sister, and myself have. He was 71. His lungs and heart couldn’t recover after Covid19.</p>
<p>I take my yearly flu and Pneumonia and just had the Moderna booster. I had a ramp installed from the house to our attached garage and hand rails in the shower. I feel like I don’t have a disability again. I will eventually need more help but get what you need right away when you need it and it keeps you from feeling as helpless. She hated going outside and would only eat and swallow everything outside which wasn’t healthy. So we trained her to use puppy pads and that is her preferred thing inside the house. She has been using “pee-pee” pads for two years. This works great for me with DM2.
