MDA Muscle Walk

Lochte Insurance Agency is organizing a charity drive to raise awareness and support for the San Antonio Muscle Walk on April 9, an annual event sponsored by the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). The company’s goal is to pay for one child to attend the MDA Camp.

The Lochte agency is a San-Antonio based insurance firm, with offices serving several communities in south and central Texas.

Muscular Dystrophy (MD) is a genetic disease affecting motor muscles of patients, affecting and inhibiting free movement. It can affect children, teenagers and adults, and the progressive character of the condition makes motor function more debilitating over time, making daily movements like walking or sitting upright a challenge.

“We’ve worked with the MDA in the past, and have learned about the benefits they can provide to those suffering from MD. That’s why we’re on a mission to send another child in-need to this camp that will make such a positive impact in their life,” Lochte Insurance Agency founder and manager Scott Lochte said in a press release.

The company features MDA’s mission in the latest edition of Our Hometown, the agency’s online community magazine. Besides helping MDA with the organization of its annual Muscle Walk in San Antonio, Scott Lochte and his team have committed to continue to support the community and get involved in the campaign, including finding and working with at least one San Antonio-area charity every other month. To help get the word out about their goal to send one child to MDA Camp, Lochte and his team established a social media strategy and will launch an email awareness campaign to reach community leaders.
