I still haven’t made an attempt to disclose my disability on my dating profile but perhaps I will give it a shot but here’s an interview my sister just, hope this helps!

I would love to get an Apple watch since it does have the best fall detection sensor on the market but the price is something that makes me think twice before buying and I also need an iPhone which I don’t have. From what I’m reading all it does is detect the fall, ask you if you’re okay and if not it will call the person you have as an emergency contact.  But really all you need is a smartwatch that can call and is water resistance. Personally, I don’t like wearing stuff on my wrist but the Apple watch with the sports strap made it feel like it wasn’t even on.  So If I can find a strap that allows me to not notice it I’m all for it to get a smartwatch because it will be very valuable to when we fall since we won’t have our phone on us all the time.

I find that being well rested makes a huge difference. Also taking breaks or a pauses to catch your breath helps too. Find a pace that works for you and paying attention to your body will come a long way on how you perform throughout the day. Also, make sure you have a nice meal before you start your day because I find myself feeling weak and tired if I’m running on an empty stomach.  One more thing for me I find that staying warm and doing some light stretches will allow me to maximize the performance of my muscles which will lead to less fatigue. More movement in any way will encourage blood flow to the muscles means more energy right? =]

I use a Power wheelchair and going to the mall is what I find enjoyable during the winter because it’s warm, your in a social setting, ground is smooth for the wheelchair lol, there is always a washroom available if you need to use. I live in a big city so there’s a service that does door to door and I make sure my destination is in a mild to heavy foot traffic which means the sidewalks should be shovelled. If I’m travelling on the streets I will not make an attempt to go thru snow because I will get stuck but If I’m with someone who is willing to push me thru then I will give it a go. For staying warm in the wheelchair I make sure I’m layered up, no skin is exposed especially ears, face, neck, and hands. I’ve been meaning to pick up a blanket for my legs and feet since I’ve seen others use it but I haven’t found one I like. When there is a snowstorm I cancel and reschedule my rides and appointments because it takes the city too long to get everything plowed and shovelled.

The supplements I take is Multi-Vitamin (chewable), Vitamin D, Vitamin B/C, Creatine and CoQ10 which I recently started taking and I noticed a difference in my mood and energy level. I also like drinking water with lemon if that counts haha just cause it really helps with my general feeling and mental state plus there are many benefits. After exercises, I take Whey Protein and Glutamine.

Awe thanks Dani that means a lot. I don’t really enjoy taking naps because it may mess up my sleeping schedule. If I really need to nap its because I didn’t sleep well. Most of the time I just need to lay down and let my back rest since I sit a lot. It really helps me reset my back so when I do need to stand for a bit, it makes a difference.

To start my day I enjoy a cup of coffee. Any source of energy will help but I’m pretty fortunate that I don’t rely on it to last me all day. I would love to cut down carbs but its hard for me since I tend to feel hungry if I do and that doesn’t end well for me lol. Plus its good source of energy for me at least haha. For protein, I always try to go for chicken but white though since it has glutamine which helps with muscle recovery.

I wish I had insurance lol but I do have family and relatives who don’t mind pitching in if I decide to get one but I want to be sure that I find a smartwatch that suits my needs.

I also have a Samsung. Been using one for the last 10 years almost lol. If it comes down to the Apple watch then I might have to switch to an iPhone ahh.

That’s pretty cool, a guardian. I never heard of that before. Its basically like a smartwatch since it calls people still. I’m not sure if the voice part is always active on smartwatches since that could drain the battery.
